Roswell man arrested for harassing pronghorns

Enrico Amaya, 28, of the 600 block of Pine St., Roswell, was arrested Aug. 11 by Cpl. Tyson Sanders, a New Mexico Department of Game and Fish conservation officer stationed in Roswell. Sanders had received tips from the public reporting someone riding an off-highway vehicle and chasing a herd of pronghorns in a pasture near town on several recent occasions. The camp is open to youths ages 10 to 18 who are accompanied by a responsible adult. It will be conducted the weekend of Sept. 15-17 at Camp Thunderbird in the Gila National Forest. Over 100 catfish, sunfish and largemouth bass were caught during the first hour of the event sponsored by the city of Hobbs and the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. All registered anglers received a prize for participating. Free hotdogs, chips and cold water were provided.
