GREAT OUTDOORS CAMP JULY 10-15 AT EAGLE NEST STATE PARK EAGLE NEST -- Youths will have a chance to learn outdoor skills in some of northern New Mexico’s most magnificent scenery at the inaugural Great Outdoors Camp July 10-15 at Eagle Nest Lake State Park. The free camp will be from 9 a.m. to noon each day. Youths between the ages of 10 and 14 are invited to participate and learn about archery, pellet-gun shooting, boating safety, outdoor cooking, fishing, being safe in bear and cougar country and wise habitat management. Partners in the event include the Eagle Nest Chamber of Commerce, Friends of Eagle Nest, New Mexico State Parks and the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. Eagle Nest Lake State Park is adjacent to the Colin Neblett Wildlife Area, a more-than 30,000-acre wildlife management area owned by the State Game Commission.
