FISHING BAG LIMITS, TACKLE RESTRICTIONS TO BE LIFTED AT OASIS STATE PARK

PORTALES -- Beginning Friday, May 4, anglers will be allowed to catch and keep unlimited numbers of fish at Oasis State Park Lake as the State Parks Division prepares to drain the lake for maintenance. The Department of Game and Fish issued the official emergency salvage order, to go into effect at 12:01 a.m. May 4, and remain in effect through 11:59 p.m. Sunday, May 13.

Tackle regulations also will be suspended during the salvage period. Anglers ages 12 and older are required to have a state fishing license. Fishing will be limited to daylight hours, and all other state park rules and entry fees will apply.
