Licenses are available online, by phone (888-248-6866), or in person at license vendors and NMDOW offices. Print from your account or request a copy from vendors or ispa@dgf.nm.gov.

All Big-game & turkey licenses also require a carcass tag (unless E-Tag chosen).

Notice Mimbres Valley conservation area:
The Department of Wildlife is currently inventorying its resources, evaluating access, and developing management plans for the recently acquired Mimbres Valley property to support responsible stewardship and guide future use. During the August 2026 State Game Commission Meeting, the final deer rule for the 2027–2031 rule cycle was approved. The rule includes a future deer hunt on the Mimbres Property.  Pending the completion of this important work, no hunting or public access is permitted.

The presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, has been detected at Holloman Lake near Alamogordo. The New Mexico Department of Health encourages anyone who consumed or captured wildlife from Holloman Lake between 2010-2024 to contact their healthcare provider should they have any concerns. Access to the lake and the land surrounding it is currently closed to the public. For the latest information, please visit the Holloman Air Force Base website. Additional information is also available in the New Mexico Environment Department’s report regarding PFAS at Holloman Lake or NMDOH’s health advisory.
