License Updates
Pheasant and Sandhill crane draw results are available through the Department’s Online License System
Youth encouragement Elk license sale started on July 22. See NM Hunting Rules & Info pages 92-94 for additional details.
Licenses are available online, by phone (888-248-6866), or in person at license vendors and NMDOW offices. Print from your account or request a copy from vendors or ispa@dgf.nm.gov.
All Big-game & turkey licenses also require a carcass tag (unless E-Tag chosen).
DO NOT HUNT WITHOUT A VALID TAG!

The presence of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, or PFAS, has been detected at Holloman Lake near Alamogordo. The New Mexico Department of Health encourages anyone who consumed or captured wildlife from Holloman Lake between 2010-2024 to contact their healthcare provider should they have any concerns. Access to the lake and the land surrounding it is currently closed to the public. For the latest information, please visit the Holloman Air Force Base website. Additional information is also available in the New Mexico Environment Department’s report regarding PFAS at Holloman Lake or NMDOH’s health advisory.
