REWARD OFFERED FOR INFORMATION ABOUT RUIDOSO DEER POACHING CASE
RUIDOSO -- The New Mexico Department of Game and Fish is offering a $ 500 reward for information leading to the apprehension of a person or persons believed to have killed two deer near Ruidoso on or around Jan. 26.
Department officers found the carcasses of two deer near the Condo’s at the entrance of Rancho Ruidoso. The carcasses were 50 to 100 yards east of Lincoln County Road D003. Both deer were shot and the carcasses left rot.
The carcass of a third deer was also found nearby. The cause of death of the third deer was undetermined because the carcass had been fed upon by coyotes and birds.
Anyone with information on this poaching incident or any other wildlife-related crime is urged to call Operation Game Thief at 1-800-432-GAME (4263). Callers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for rewards if information leads to charges being filed.
