Catron County 3D Archery Shoot
June 28 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
This 3-D Archery Shoot consists of 15 targets set up around the exterior of the Apache Creek Campground. Participants will be able to be bring their own bows and arrows, or may borrow recurve bow and arrows from the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. Participants will be using archery equipment discharging their bows which will be shooting field tipped arrows. The distances for each target will vary from 10-60 yards and each target will have a backstop preventing the arrows from traveling further distances. With enough participants, divisions may be created based on equipment, age, and gender. Other activities may include a pellet gun trailer provided by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish, which is an enclosed shooting range for air rifles inside the trailer. The U.S. Forest Service may also be present with a booth or equipment of their own. This event is meant to foster community relations and provide opportunity for the residents of Catron County, but the event is open to everyone.
Registration will take place on the morning of June 28. With enough participation, there will be six different divisions: Men’s Open; Women’s Open; Youth Open; Men’s Traditional/NASP; Women’s Traditional/NASP; Youth Traditional/NASP
