DESCRIPTION:This camp is open to youth ages 10 to 17 who are accompanied by a registered adult. Camp is free\, meals will be provided and participants will tent-camp on the property. Participants will learn safe and responsible firearms handling\, ethical hunting behaviors\, conservation\, wildlife identification and basic survival skills. Additionally\, participants will learn from Department conservation officers about their jobs including wildlife investigations\, decoy operations and working with wildlife and test their marksmanship skills with bow and arrows\, .22 rifle and shotgun. All equipment will be provided.

DESCRIPTION:This camp is for participants of any age who is interested in learning more about the basics of archery and bow hunting. Participants will learn archery basics and safety\, how to choose equipment\, proper shot placement while hunting\, outdoor preparedness and more! All archery equipment will be provided; however\, participants are encouraged to bring their own equipment if they have it. Camping is available at the State Park per reservation. Participants are responsible for all food and drinks. Youth under 18 must have a parent or adult present during the camp. \nRegistration opens April 7 at 9 a.m. on the following link\, https://forms.office.com/g/zJBykJzUZA. SUMMARY:Catron County 3D Archery Shoot
DESCRIPTION:This 3-D Archery Shoot consists of 15 targets set up around the exterior of the Apache Creek Campground. Participants will be able to be bring their own bows and arrows\, or may borrow recurve bow and arrows from the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish. Participants will be using archery equipment discharging their bows which will be shooting field tipped arrows. The distances for each target will vary from 10-60 yards and each target will have a backstop preventing the arrows from traveling further distances. With enough participants\, divisions may be created based on equipment\, age\, and gender. Other activities may include a pellet gun trailer provided by the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish\, which is an enclosed shooting range for air rifles inside the trailer. The U.S. Forest Service may also be present with a booth or equipment of their own. This event is meant to foster community relations and provide opportunity for the residents of Catron County\, but the event is open to everyone. \nRegistration will take place on the morning of June 28. With enough participation\, there will be six different divisions: Men’s Open; Women’s Open; Youth Open; Men’s Traditional/NASP; Women’s Traditional/NASP; Youth Traditional/NASP
